I have a blast when I talk with students and other kids about Sugarbeet Falls. We discuss everything from being kind to others, to the writing and publishing process.
The best part of the visit however, is when we create our own superhero. I tell the kids to be as creative as they can possibly be, and they come up with some amazing ideas!
Here’s a quick version of how we create superheroes at the Sugarbeet Falls school visits. Students answer questions that help design the character and his/her powers. After that, we tell a story about our hero and how he/she saves the day.
This hero is Fire Food Fighter. He shoots fire out of one hand, and exploding tacos out of the other. Tornadoes shoot out of his feet to help him fly, and he spits dangerously hot chicken wings.
