There is a minor but very important character in the Sugarbeet Falls series.
Xander has a basset hound named Parker. In my opinion, bassets hounds are hilarious. They’re huge, they weigh a ton, but their bellies are only a couple inches from the ground. They kind of waddle around with their ridiculous ears dragging on the floor half the time.
I had a basset in real life, his name was also Parker. He died a few years ago after a fabulous run as a fat lazy best pal to humans and other dogs.
Keep an eye out for Parker when you’re reading Sugarbeet Falls. He’s a lot of fun and always up for a howl of approval.
