I Wanna Try Something New

I have been working on getting dates booked for my author visit schedule as I work on the newest book in the Sugarbeet Falls Series.  I am also shopping a television script and messing around with an adult fiction attempt.  I have a children’s picture book written and would like to finish a venture with my daughter Haven in writing the series prequel to Sugarbeet Falls.  Its also the start of school and my wife’s cheer business is blowing up.  I’m also a business consultant.

All good things…all good things…

But here’s the deal, here’s the real dream.  I want to be a boutique publisher.  I mean, I already am in that I publish my own books under the imprint of my publishing company:

I want to do it on a greater scale though.  I want to help writers with editing, content, ghost-writing, illustration, cover design, and everything else.

I truly want it to be a retirement gig for my parents and in-laws.

Turns out I’m low on time.

Here’s my plan.  I want to work with up to 100 schools to publish books of short stories.  Think how cool it would be for a class to end the year with an actual paperback in which they are published.  They can use the books to sell as fund raisers, give as gifts, or even start a writing resume for later in life.  My job would be to set the stage, set the theme, discuss the story arc and writing process.  The kids would have milestones to hit in numbers, deadlines, edits, and drafts.  We could do cover design contests or collaborations.  It would be a blast!

Let me know what you think!  It’s exclusive to start.  I won’t do more than 50 books this school year and the size of class/group of students would have to probably be less than 50.  So get on board or ask more questions!   Kids can collaborate on one full novel or each write their own for a class/group collection.

Please give me your thoughts and I will flesh out more details.

I still totally want to come and talk to all of the schools in the world still though.
