FOr those who have followed the Sugarbeet Falls evolution, the inspirations for Xander and his bookmates is already known. For those who haven’t, here’s the quick version:
When I was 18, my son Zack was born. Zack is the coolest person alive in spite of his old man, and I am endlessly proud of him. He has made the best of every situation he has ever encountered and based on this, has become the producer of a statewide news program called the MTN 9:00 News. As a kid, he loved superheroes, and made up many of his own when he would play in the park or swimming pool, or anywhere he was awake. This imagination and creativity was the inspiration for Xander Zackery and the world of SUGARBEET FALLS.
Fast forward to yesterday… I did a presentation to kids at Giant Springs Elementary in Great Falls. The local news station came to cover the presentation. As the producer of the statewide news, Zack did his pop a huge solid and picked up the story for his state-wide program. It was amazing, and he even got to add a touch of his fantastic personality and our relationship at the end.
